An exceptional and rare pair of English Regency console tables, dating to the Mid 19th century. Each table is crafted with dramatic sculptural form, featuring a boldly figured burl wood veneered frieze and apron, enhanced by finely carved mahogany swags, volutes, and classical scroll detailing. The beautifully shaped central plinth support is richly veneered and flanked by sweeping front legs terminating in carved lion paw feet.
This pair exemplifies the Regency period’s affinity for Greco-Roman motifs, exotic veneers, and dynamic profiles.
