He personally designed the furniture for the family business. His attention to design ensured that the furniture was contemporary. The vision he shared with his brother (Leo) was the reason the company flourished and became a successful family business. The 540 sofa is a classic, still produced and sold by Van der Sluis Furniture. The sofa has a Matte Black square steel frame, this has been repainted black by us. We restored and re-upholstered the sofa. We chose a Pastel Blue fine woven fabric for the seat and back upholstery. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
