Created by well known and collected California artist (American b. 1939) Paulden who back in the early 80’s was in the interior design business in several California cities. Upon his decision to retire is when he took up painting. And specifically only large oil abstract works of art. He saw a demand for that kind of art in the design business and he thought nothing better than fulfilling a need for this kind of good artwork.

In fact, beginning in 1999 Paulden was represented by several art galleries and specifically at Colin Fisher Studios in Cathedral City, CA. He has had many one-man exhibitions and his work hangs in several public and private spaces.

Paulden whose last name is Evans goes only by his first name. You can Google “Paulden” and see a lot of his work and gallery representation over the years. So, during this so called “retirement” years, he created a total of 970 paintings and this painting is his most recent and last painting, but not his final work of art. Titled, #970, painted in 2025.

This painting comes complete with the necessary hanging materials for an easy and precise hanging, especially since it weighs 42 pounds. As shown in the photos provided, a picture of the backside of this painting reflects the artists signature and “title #970”. There is also a photo or two of his other paintings hanging in the gallery to illustrate how great this style of art looks, but of course those paintings have been sold. Plus, there is a photo of the artist himself.
