For those collectors who know and admire Shearer’s work, know that this cross is a common theme for his work. Therefore this cross is indeed rare and is a one of a kind, will therefore realize the importance of this piece.

Shearer was one of the original 20 artists to create Miami’s South Beach art scene design district in 1982. He later moved to NYC in 1995.

This unique cross made of polychrome and has a nail inserted in the heart, which hangs from wire that is 41” long. The cross itself measures 8” high X 5” wide. The wire holding the cross can be shortened to desired length. Provenance; direct from the artist in 1992. Shearer is known for painting art with drips and religious motifs. This cross is highly unique and rare, and possibly one of a kind.

Shipping will require a long thin custom fabricated box to prevent the 41” wire (rather thick) to travel without bending it. Even though the wire has some bends in it already intentionally created by the artist. The cross itself has a dull blackish patina with a bright silver nail in the heart. Hanging this piece of art on a blank wall makes a huge impression.
