Artist Biography:
Cyrus Bates Currier was born in Marietta, Ohio, in 1868. He studied in Paris at the Académie Julian under Alphonse Mucha, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, and Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant. By 1919 he had relocated to Los Angeles, where he remained active until his death in 1946. Currier worked as a painter, illustrator, and designer, specializing in landscapes. He exhibited with the Salmagundi Club and was affiliated with several American artist associations. His brother, Edward W. Currier, was also an artist.

Condition: Good overall, minor surface wear consistent with age, frame with light wear..
