The set is a part of Lane’s Rhythm Collection. The classic cat eye or bowtie shape is integrated to the back rest using walnut braces. Spindles connect the front and back legs made from sculpted walnut, an iconic material of the Mid-Century Modern period. The chair front feature a somewhat swooped seat that makes them distinctive among other designs in that era. The chair's dimensions make them ideal for a small dining area or a dining table that comfortably seats six diners This set features upholstered orange-tone synthetic tweed that was updated by an earlier owner. The fabric may be easily replaced by a fabric of the buyer. The chairs are in good condition for their age and use. The joints are strong and no cracks in the wood were identified. The seats may be slightly too narrow for diners with ample buttocks. No maker’s mark was found, however, the form, material, and construction are consistent with documented examples from the 1960s.
