Very rare, antique circa 1810 American Federal period carved pine Hackensack wall cupboard. Crafted in Hackensack Bergen County, New Jersey. A magnificent and ornate piece with great history and provenance below. This magnificent Federal Hackensack cupboard was proudly displayed in my late Grandmother's estate in Saddle River, NJ. It sat in her dining room for decades.
She acquired it from a prominent antique dealer in West Englewood, New Jersey in 1954. My Grandmother and David Rockefeller were invited to see the piece at the same time. My Grandmother arrived one hour early and bought the cupboard. Mr. Rockefeller arrived late and wanted to buy the cupboard from my Grandmother. She politely declined. Mr. Rockefeller then sent a 3x5 card each Christmas, several years in a row, to see if my Grandmother wanted to sell the cupboard. My father was 10 years old at the time and was at the antique store the day she purchased the cupboard.
Measurements: Height 85", Width 47", Depth 18"
Notes: Very spacious cupboard that can accommodate a lot of collectibles. There are 3 long display shelves in the top part of the cupboard and 2 long shelves in the bottom of the cupboard. There are 3 drawers in the center of the piece.
