Fabulous small box with handle, an antique hand warmer in vitrified hard-paste porcelain, entirely hand-decorated with floral motifs and embellished … Read more Fabulous small box with handle, an antique hand warmer in vitrified hard-paste porcelain, entirely hand-decorated with floral motifs and embellished with pure gold trim in relief. The bronze clasp is worked in bas-relief. It is crafted and signed under the base with the first mark of the French Imperial Manufactory of Sèvres, dating to around the mid-18th century. Pieces of embers were placed inside, and the hole in the lid served to release the smoke. The entire box was then moved by the handle to avoid burning, and used to warm oneself, primarily one's hands, as was customary among the ladies of noble families of the past. The entire piece is beautifully patinaed, with marvelous rich gold decorations, all in light bas-relief. The bronze clasp is also beautiful, with its shell-shaped centerpiece and bronze ring on the handle covering the slot in the case. The entire piece is richly decorated in bas-relief, a work of class and great elegance. The floral decorations, all hand-painted by the artist with a brush, are fabulous, a work of the highest quality. This piece has an attribution mark,
