The Other Side is an important lithograph by David Hockney, one of Britain’s most celebrated contemporary artists. Part of Hockney’s exploration into perception and duality, this work balances figurative precision with expressive colour. The composition reflects his lifelong interest in theatre, stage design, and the layering of visual realities, presenting an image that is at once intimate and expansive.
This artwork highlights Hockney’s continuing evolution during the early 1990s, a period where his practice fused printmaking mastery with conceptual themes of reflection, space, and the passage between inner and outer worlds.
