The sculpture is sometimes … Read more Vintage Mid Century Modern cast sculpture figurine titled "Padre" by El Paso, Texas artist Richard Myklebust. The sculpture is sometimes referred to as a priest, monk or Saint Francis. The figurine is signed on the back with a styled "M" for Myklebust. The artist often used Nambe Mills in Santa Fe, New Mexico to cast his items. The material of this sculpture seems similar to Nambe cast alloy pieces. The figurine is attached to a black wooden plinth with felt on the bottom. The plinth measures approximately 6-1/4 inches wide, 9 inches long and 2 inches tall. The sculpture without the base measures approximately 13-1/2 inches tall. Total height of sculpture on base is approximately 15-3/4 inches. The entire piece weighs approximately 11 pounds and 1 ounce. The sculpture is in good vintage condition but the wood base has some scratches, dings and the felt is detached.

Richard Myklebust is an El Paso, Texas sculptor well known for his minimalist mid century modern designs. He attended the University of Texas at El Paso and often used Nambe Mills in Santa Fe, New Mexico to cast his sculptures. See less
