McNair, Shipyard, Possibly the Clyde. This interesting painting dating from 1957, with its flattened perspective and bold palette, has an affinity with the robust and realist aesthetic of the 1950s 'Kitchen Sink' school style, focusing the everyday and the post-industrialised environment. In gouache on blue paper. All artworks come with a Certificate of Authenticity and—if it is a collection artwork—its accompanying collection text or artist biography. Signed: Signed lower right and centre. Dated: Dated lower right. Height: 32.8cm (12.9″) Width: 28cm (11″) Condition: The paper has suffered historic damage, with a number of repaired tears to the edges, most significantly extending from the centre-left edge. The edges of the paper are raw, with some wear, including creasing towards the right edge and right-hand corners. The damage would not, however, be especially noticeable when mounted and framed. Please see photos for detail. Presented: Unframed. See less
