This arc lamp can be dated to the early 1980s by the logo, the older socket and the patina. The solid travertine base has chamfered corners to avoid sharp edges. The arch consists of three stainless steel sections that slide telescopically into each other, concealing the cable. The polished aluminium reflector is composed of a perforated part with an adjustable ring and can be set at three different heights. The combination of sculptural elegance and industrial materials is characteristic of Italian mid-century design.

The dimensions are 215 x 32 x 230 (H) cm and the shade diameter is 32 cm. Marked: Flos, made in Italy. Source: Achille Castiglioni by Sergio Polano, pages 190–191 (see photo). The condition of this Flos floor lamp is very good with light signs of use consistent with age and wear. The patina underlines the authentic character of this early 1980s example.
