Designed by celebrated ceramicist Edith Heath, this 1950s Heath Ceramics teapot captures the quiet beauty and restrained elegance of California’s mid-century studio pottery movement.
Hand-thrown and finished in a rich matte brown glaze, the teapot’s organic silhouette and thoughtful proportions reveal Heath’s philosophy that “beauty and utility need never be separate.” The smooth curves of the body flow seamlessly into a sculpted spout and handle — a hallmark of her signature balance between function and form.
The base bears the impressed “HEATH / MADE IN USA” mark, authenticating this as an early production piece from Heath’s Sausalito studio era.
In excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Glaze retains a soft satin luster and subtle tonal variations consistent with handcrafted ceramics.
A timeless collectible for admirers of mid-century modern design, American studio pottery, and California modern craftsmanship. Perfect as a functional teapot or as a sculptural statement on open shelving or a design vignette.
