A RALPH LAUREN bottle opener with an entertaining glamorous dinner story to tell! Originally owned by Janyra Jasan (aka Jeanette Johnson), Ralph Lauren’s influential and long time design development executive for 20+ years (until 2015). It has a chic textured handle in polished-nickel finish, engraved on bottom with RL logo. A limited-edition, being no longer in production makes it more "specialty and found". In new condition this may have been a prototype, it was purchased from her estate auction. The perfect gift for the "hostess with the mostess" who loves to entertain in high-style with fabulous stories to tell!
Prior to Ralph Lauren in the 1960s, Jasan was part of the girl group "Candy and the Kisses". Their 1965 hit "The 81" can still be heard on YouTube and Spotify. She was an abstract expressionist painter that exhibited in the 1980s at the HarrisBrown Gallery in Boston and several NYC galleries.
