A creative sculpture which may have been a smoking stand, we have used in the serving of fruit or candies as well with potpourri to emit a lovely scent. We have also, put a frosted round battery operated (rechargeable) globe inside the bowl for a lovely glow. Lamps and statues like this were subject to a lawsuit in 1935. Frankart as assignee of Arthur von Frankenberg filed suit against Everlite Co. of Brooklyn, NY. The courts ruled that there was an infringement and Frankart was entitled to an award, making this statue a rare commodity as a limited run. The back of the foot is marked “EVERLITE MFG. BKLYN NY”. Both were based on the design artistry of Max Le Verrier. See less
