A very fine bronze patina, green patinated bronze draped robe. This model was understandably one of the artist’s most celebrated works. Une Heure de la Nuit was first exhibited at the Salon of 1848 and a marble version was soon after commissioned by the French Ministry of the interior at a cost of 15,000 francs.
