Vibrant, painterly Southern California landscape of iconic Eucalyptus trees by Andrew Boardo Lund (1877 - 1959), circa 1900. Southern California mountains and billowy sky create a striking backdrop for Eucalyptus grove, Asymmetrical composition adds interest yet is balanced and pleasing. Andrew Lund is known for murals, landscapes, missions, and portraits.

Condition: Good: Professionally restored; relined with Belgium linen on original stretcher bar; tears repaired and inpainting. Minimal craquelure consistent with age and use.

Born in Oslo, Norway on July 4, 1877. Lund studied with noted masters in Oslo and Germany before opening a studio in Los Angeles in 1919. His work includes landscapes, seascapes, portraits, murals, scenes of Norway and California.
