This impressive buffet dates to the late 19th century, reflecting the Renaissance Revival style that was popular during the Victorian era. Characterized by its elaborate carved decoration, architectural form, and distinctive lion supports, it exemplifies the period's fascination with historical styles, particularly those of the Italian Renaissance.
The top portion has beautiful stained glass which when lit will glow warmly. Currently, the cabinet is not wired for lights but we have displayed it in our home with a battery powered light. It makes this piece absolutely magical! The lions are in excellent shape and the wear on this piece just speaks to the amazing history it must have had! Notice the photos carefully as we have tried to show all aspects of wear.
The top comes off for transport and we recommend hiring someone who understands the care needed for transporting antiques. The buffet will come apart in five pieces for shipping: top cabinet, two lion supports, center section and bottom shelf section.
