This charming papier mache sculpture of Frida Kahlo is straight from the living estate of Atlanta artist Sandra Bennett who for years served as director of the Spruill Center of the Arts, a community arts center established in Dunwoody Georgia c.1975. Frida is wonderfully detailed complete with lacy trimmed clothing (clever use of a doily), painter’s palette, paper woven shawl, painted uni-brow and a well constructed cardboard wheelchair. The more you look…the more you smile.

Good to fair vintage condition. There are signs of aging and wear including overall yellowing especially to the clothing and lacy trim and a couple of areas with paper loss as noted in photograph 11. She is delicate, to be sure, but she is such a unique conversation piece that her flaws will seem minor.
