Louis Kalff (1897–1976) was a Dutch designer and architect, emblematic of 20th-century industrial design. He joined Philips in the 1920s, where he modernized the visual identity and led the lighting design. He created numerous iconic lamps that blended sculptural forms, functionalism, and modernity.
Among his creations, the Minou S lamp is a rare and sought-after model, typical of the mid-century style. It features a slim base, a lacquered metal shade, often tilted or adjustable, and a soft, ambient light. This model expresses all the understated and functional elegance of Dutch design from the 1950s and 1960s. This piece has an attribution mark,
