Shoemaker uses his childhood name, … Read more Handsome unframed abstract painting (64” high) by outsider artist (American, b. 1969) Christopher (Cyrstofer) Shoemaker. Shoemaker uses his childhood name, Cyrstofer and signed this artwork “C.S”. on the front bottom right, with use of acrylic paint on recycled brown paper. This artwork was rolled up by the artist and planned to be framed in the way shown in the addition photos section. Floated loosely (tacked down at the top, one third and again two thirds down and lastly at the bottom right and left sides leaving the artwork floating and somewhat loose).

Shoemaker started painting on found materials and using his imagination in what he painted. He was inspired by the late and great Miami artist, Purvis Young. Once Shoemaker started showing his work at Colin Fisher Studios gallery in Cathedral City, CA his paintings took off immediately. In fact, he had several one man shows. And important and high profile collectors acquired his paintings.

This painting could be tacked on the wall and not framed if desired. However, once framed the overall look would be amazing. (Please see what a work of his looks like framed, in the manner described above, in the additional photos section). Without talking monies; if framed and having more than 30 years experience as a gallery owner and having art framed. The cost for doing as described above in a fine wood frame under glass or acrylic (weighing less) would be around $500.00 or less. If this work on paper had been framed it would be listed at $3,900.00, instead of $850.00.
