By use … Read more Large unframed abstract painting on recycled paper (72” high) by outsider artist (American, b. 1969) Christopher (Cyrstofer) Shoemaker. By use of acrylic paint, once completed the artist rolled it up with plans to frame it at a later date. (See a photo of how it is recommended to look when framed and floated inside a black wood frame under Plexi-glass (because of the size, it’s lighter in weight and sun protective too). And there’s a photo of a different painting similar to illustrate how it would look once framed.

The framer should tack down the art loosely (at the top, middle and bottom, so the ripples and partial rolls in the paper are obvious). Making the finished look having an organic feel with character. This painting is also signed.

Shoemaker started painting on found materials back in 2000. His artwork took off immediately. In fact, he had several one-man art exhibitions at Colin Fisher Studios in Cathedral City, CA. His artwork is among many important collections. Shoemaker was inspired by the late Miami artist Purvis Young. Both Shoemaker and Young had no formal training and use found materials to paint on and often have drips and swirls with the paint. Once framed (although it could hang like it is in the photo, unframed if desired). It will make a handsome statement no matter what and a striking look.

Furthermore, based on more than 30 years selling art and having art framed. Two important facts. The cost to have this large artwork framed in a very good black wood frame, following the recommended way and either under glass or Lucite. Not to sound crass however, the cost to have this work of art framed should be around $850.00 give or take. Plus if it were framed, we would have it priced at $3,900.00 or more for sale in our gallery.

Measurements; 72” high X 30” wide. There are wrinkles in the recycled paper which is what the artist intended when creating this work of art. It is signed in the lower right. See less
