This is an assembled pair of Chinese Cedar wood stools in the Ming dynasty style, which can also function as elegant side or drink tables. PLEASE NOTE THAT STOOLS ARE NOT IDENTICAL, ( one is 2” wider and 1“ longer than the other ). PLEASE see all the PHOTOS for reference.
Each piece, showcases traditional joinery with exposed square pegs, highlighting, both durability and aesthetic simplicity. The stools feature a rectangular top with a smooth, polished surface. All four legs end with hoof feet and are connected with a humpback stretchers that provide stability and balance. The difference is hardly noticeable, unless you keep them next to each other. They both made of the same wood and were used in the same household, just in different rooms (one of them, has a name of the room, where it belonged to, written in Chinese characters, underside of the top). Both pieces have been cleaned and finished with hand rubbed shellac and wax and they are very sturdy. Please note that there is a minimal warping to the top of a smaller stool, but it is structurally solid. less
