A rare and poetic piece from the golden age of Brazilian design, the Anel Rolling Office Chair is an iconic creation by Ricardo Fasanello, designed in 1960 and produced by his Rio de Janeiro studio.
Like the Anel 60 armchair, it features a sculptural, ergonomic ring-shaped backrest crafted from black polyester resin and a cognac leather upholstered seat that captures the mood of the 1960s space race. Exceptionally well-constructed, the chair’s weight and durability are a testament to its artisanal quality.
It includes a base with casters and a height adjustment function—revolutionary for the time—providing optimal functionality for office work. With its swivel design, adjustable seat height, and fiberglass shell, the chair is both highly functional and a striking embodiment of modernism.
Born in São Paulo in 1930, Ricardo Fasanello was a self-taught design prodigy who built his first sailboat at 14 and designed his own lofts by 18. Eschewing traditional woodworking, he embraced fiberglass, resin, and leather, crafting pieces that are now icons of modern Brazilian design.
