It's a hand-colored copper etching by Matthias and Clauss Petersen, published in "Neue Landesbeschreibung der zwei Herzogthuemer Schleswig und Holstein" by Johann Mejer in 1652. The map details the western part of Jutland, from Tondern to the run of the Ribe river, and the coast of the North Sea with its islands, including the northern part of Sylt (Germany), and the islands Jordsand, Roemoe, Mandoe, and Fanoe. The craftsmanship of the map, with its ornate cartouches and detailed geographic representations, reflects the cartographic style of the mid-17th century, offering both aesthetic and historical value. This kind of map would have been crucial for navigation and territorial management during that period. See less
