biography: george hardy was born in 1822 in windsor, england. He painted mainly genre subjects, particularly country house interiors, and exhibited 41 works at the royal academy (ra), four at the royal society of british artists, suffolk street (ss), and four at the british institution (bi) between 1846 and 1892. He was the brother of frederick daniel hardy (1826–1911), who painted similar subjects. George hardy died in cranbrook, kent, in 1909.
