This one is finished in … Read more This table lamp is a futuristic flying saucer lamp or "UFO" lamp from circa 1950s. This one is finished in a metallic cinnamon brown which could also be considered copper or chocolate colored. This lamp uses a standard bulb size. No makers mark is present.

This lamp creates beautiful shadows on the wall and directs almost all light downward in a fairly small radius. The round pagoda style finial nut on top is not commonly seen on similar lamps currently for sale.

There is quite a bit of wear and oxidation present on the paint, especially areas where the lamp got hot from the incandescent bulbs. The base also has scratches and one small dent. Most of the metal parts respond to a magnet indicating steel rather than aluminum, thus posing a threat of future oxidation on exposed surfaces, especially if kept in a humid environment. The switch and socket feel fairly solid and are not prone to blinking. The lamp base sits nicely without wobble.
