This mid 20th century watercolor seascape is by California Expressionist painter and sculptor Ross Curtis (1918-2007). Curtis was the co-founder of a noted Northern California group of artists known as the "Sausalito Teahouse Group". He studied under the Mexican revolutionary muralist, Alfredo Zalce. In the 1960s, Curtis was part of the Sausalito Teahouse Group with Ross and Eileen Curtis in Marin, CA. The group used an early 1900s Japanese Teahouse as a studio and exhibition space.
