Over the years, many antiques get refinished so the wood is shiny and unblemished. While some people prefer that newer look that comes from refinishing, some of the character of its age is lost. This cherry chest of drawers escaped that fate, retaining an older finish. You can absolutely feel the depth of its personality, even through the pictures. We love this look so much!
Built in the early 1800s according in the Sheraton style (sub-style within Neoclassical), the dainty turned feet and wonderfully curved skirt give it a simple elegance. Given the white pine and poplar secondary woods and that we acquired in central Pennsylvania, that is its probable place of origin.

There is a divot in the top left drawer face and a chip out of the top edge of the top right drawer as visible. Neither are glaring and add to the character of the piece in our opinion. less
