Each features a formal urn and parterre scene printed in black/gray with a warm, sepia-toned specimen applied on top—an elegant dialogue between 18th/19th-century print culture and the 19th–early 20th century herbarium tradition. One sheet bears a handwritten Latin identification: “Filipendula … (Rosaceae)” (meadowsweet genus). The background engravings show classical urns and allees; a faint plate credit is present along the lower margin on some sheets, but not legible enough to attribute definitively.Honest age and character: light toning, scattered foxing, waviness to the paper, and small marks consistent with age; minor flattening losses to a few specimens (stable under glass). Frames show small scuffs. Presents beautifully. See less
