This ceramic head belongs to the artist’s Testas series, a body of work composed of unique hand-modeled ceramic heads that explore individuality and collectivity. Each Testa is conceived as a one-of-a-kind ceramic head, deliberately rough in texture and marked by the organic unpredictability of the glazing process, embracing accident, erosion, and imperfection as part of its expressive power. The surface of this expressionist head reveals layers of white and earthy tones, with subtle variations introduced by the Rakú firing process.
