Incredible texture and movement in this calming piece of abstract art by Theodore Scuris.
Large scale, vintage mid-century art is hard to come by, especially a piece that is so neutral that it will play nicely with a variety of decor styles.
It's a wow piece, yet still understated somehow. Absolutely beautiful.
Painted on wood cut into curves, then arranged to create depth and lighting variations. Frame was also handmade by the artist.
49.25W x 52H X 2 Deep
Cleaned and repainted to renew it.
Unfortunately, Theodore Scuris only signed a few of his pieces, so this baby is without... However, I can confirm I purchased it from the Scuris estate along with my entire collection of his work. He does have a large installation at Johns Hopkins from 1970 named "Give Peace A Chance".
