Artist: Giuseppe Pollice (1833 - ? ) Period: 19th century Style: Other Style Condition: Good condition Material: Bronze"G. Pollice - Hercules Carrying The Erymanthian Boar" Bronze with green patina representing Hercules carrying on his shoulder the Erymanthian boar which, according to legend, caused enormous damage to the peasants' crops. No one dared approach this ferocious beast. Only a demigod could defeat it. This bronze is of good size, has retained its beautiful original patina and is signed on the base "G. POLLICE Napoli". Note - an old restoration at the level of a knee was carried out a long time ago but the work was very well done (see photo) This piece has an attribution mark,
