The circular top is veneered in richly figured walnut burl arranged in a radiating starburst that reads beautifully from every angle. The thick apron sits on an octagonal column and a sculptural tri-form base, all walnut veneered, with ebonized collars and foot blocks that underline the clear geometry typical of Biedermeier design. The surface has been professionally restored and hand-polished with shellac, giving a deep, warm gloss while preserving the character of the timber. Underside construction and joinery are consistent with period craftsmanship.
