This is an extraordinary painting and one of the most "expressionistic" of .George's work. Inspired by a late fall hike up to the "Maroon Peaks" the painting conveys an aura of other-worldliness and shifting realities.
The massive "Bells" are respectively hidden and revealed by moving cloud cover. Dark skies and mist contribute to the eerie sense of the unreal.
