This is an extraordinary painting and one of the most "expressionistic" of .George's work. Inspired by a late fall hike up to the "Maroon Peaks" the painting conveys an aura of other-worldliness and shifting realities.
The massive "Bells" are respectively hidden and revealed by moving cloud cover. Dark skies and mist contribute to the eerie sense of the unreal.
The painting itself is a marvel of technique. Moving very close to the painting, the observer sees pixilated colors of every possible hue, abstract shapes varied textures.
Step away from the painting and it all comes together to form a beautiful and evocative representation of one moment in time.
