A framed oil on canvas titled "Winter's Task" by listed artist Henry A. Duessel (1858-1919). The scene depicts a richly detailed winter forest with bare trees and snow on the ground. Two central figures collect wood besides a brook. Signed in the lower left corner. Set in a carved and beveled gilt exhibition frame with an engraved plaque showing the title and artist's name.
Henry A Duessel, known for large, panoramic landscapes and maritime works, is listed as an artist both in Germany and New York in the late 1880's and 1890's.
