An original painting by Swiss artist Max Gunther (1934-1975) entitled "No Sun (1960)". Lugubrious and moody exploration of a city skyline at night. Encased in wood.
Born in Switzerland, Max Gunther first studied in Zurich and, subsequently, in Paris. He also lived and exhibited in both Scandinavia and London before settling in Italy. After 1953, he lived in Rome, traveling frequently to exhibitions of his work throughout Europe and the United States. Gunther exhibited internationally with success and was the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards. He is listed in all relevant art reference works including Benezit's Dictionnaire des Peintres, Sculpteurs, Dessinateurs, et Graveurs.
