A charmer. Great sense of the heat haze of a summer morning in the hills.
Art measure 16" x 20", and the original; frame is 19" x 23". Stamped on the back of the canvas as #336 from his studio.
Born in Boston, MA on Jan. 2, 1867. Tilden came to San Francisco at age five. He was most active as a painter in northern California circa 1913 when he painted landscapes of Marin County and Donner Lake. A real estate salesman for forty years, he died in San Francisco on Feb. 26, 1932.
