Painted on found plywood and framed by the artist in Formica strips. Signed by the artist “Young” in the upper right. Provenance; purchased directly from the artist in 1991 after he painted it in his studio in Wynwood, Miami, Florida. Young a listed outsider artist who is famous for his work. This painting is mostly of pregnant woman walking. When asked of Purvis “where do you get your inspiration”? he replied, “from what I see on the streets of Miami”.

Young’s work is highly collected. Currently his paintings hang in 22 museums and in many private and public collections. There are several books and even movies that feature him and his work. A cover of one book in particular is shown in the additional photos section.

This painting is on recycled and assembled plywood screwed in to Formica strips that frame the artwork by the artist himself. Ready for hanging. Naturally, it could be framed and placed under glass which would really add to the importance of this artwork. Perfect for any collector and/or a perfect addition on any wall. See less
