A super quality oak roll top desk from the Edwardian period. The original lock and escutcheon shows that it was made by Maples & Co of London and Paris with later Maples storage labels showing. As with all our fully restored roll tops, a desk to this standard would have belonged to the company boss, doctor, lawyer etc not your junior clerk. Even today most people of taste and substance like to sit at a quality desk. This particular desk has a rather attractive fully fitted interior with an array of drawers and pigeon holes. All the panels are fielded (bevelled) and the drawers have nicely carved handles. All sympathetically restored. Dated on internal drawer bottom with writing "God First" April 21st 06 (1906).
Height to Worktop - 79cm
