A charming and whimsical antique French sterling silver egg cup, circa 1900. Resting on a sturdy base, the cup is adorned with three delightful panels: a hen nestled on her eggs, a proud rooster in full plumage, and an elegant Louis XVI style medallion. The medallion is framed with scrolling acanthus leaves and topped with a ribbon bow. Beautifully detailed and finely crafted, this piece is both functional and decorative — a perfect addition to a silver collection or a breakfast table steeped in French charm
• French, marked for first standard silver (.950)
• The maker's punch is JB, Jean Barthelemy, (Deux Etoiles, 2 Stars), 1898 (top star has been worn off)

• Good antique condition with small dings in several places around the bowl. Very small ding on top rim.
