Map of the holy land divided into the twelve tribes of israel, depicting the exodus from egypt and the wanderings of the children of israel. The lower part of the map is elaborately engraved with a scene of the encampment of the children of israel and religious sacraments, including the ark of the covenant. Artists and engravers: engraved by a. Schut. Published by c. Danckerts ii. The danckerts were a well known family containing several engravers, cartographers and print-sellers that started with the founder cornelis danckerts i (1536-1595) who was the city carpenter. Condition: fair, several repairs mainly on folding line, bottom and top left of the map. Dutch text on verso, faded. Please study image carefully. Date: c.1710 overall size: 54.5 x 41.5 cm.
