Early 1950s Scandinavian Original Oil Pastel Drawing in Light Blue, Kelly Green, Light Pink and Yellow.
The drawing depicts a tranquil canal scene, executed with oil pastels, characterized by bold, textured strokes, creating a vibrant and somewhat impressionistic feel. The colors are vivid and applied with a sense of energy.
A small row boat is moored near the left bank in the foreground. Lush kelly green grass lines the canal banks, with a row of tall, dark green coniferous trees extending along the right side of the canal into the distance. The sky is depicted with soft, muted tones of light sky blue, white and gray, suggesting an overcast day. The overall atmosphere of the painting is serene and pastoral.
