Probably alabaster (or marble or agate), this ashtray is hand-carved and could have a different life as a catchall for jewelry on a vanity or keys on a credenza. It's a gorgeous piece, no matter the angle, and it's such a visually interesting piece. I purchased this at a market in Pennsylvania from a vendor whose booth was filled with amazing, true antique finds. See less
