It’s signed … Read more I love the water, and this coastal port scene caught my eye while in a North Carolina shop. It’s signed “Gaston” but I was unable to find any information about this particular artist. By the frame and technique, this appears to be a Mid-Century painting. The colors are muted, which is perfect to add more neutral tones into a space. The paint itself is also textured, which adds a realistic element. I’ve also traveled the globe, and this reminds me of the sleepy, coastal towns I’ve seen in Europe and throughout Latin America.

The frame is marked “Mexico” which gives a possible point of reference as to this piece’s origin.

Also, some of the paint has worn away in spots (please see the photo with the close up signature for reference), but it adds to the charm. The frame is also worn, and I am leaving it as is for the buyer. See less
