It is signed … Read more A magnificent bas-relief majolica plaque, entirely hand-decorated, enameled, and glazed, depicting a couple in a rural idyll. It is signed on the back of the base with the famous incised mark of the German KARLSRUHE factory. The enamels used are fabulous, of the highest quality, and the rich glazing gives the plaque a rare luster. The patina and type of mark date it to around 1940. Crafted in the Art Deco style. They are generally in good condition, with a break on one corner of the plate, which has been properly glued back together. Otherwise, they are perfect. Any white marks visible in the photos are reflections of light. This piece has an attribution mark,
