Edsall in 1946 "Portrait of a Southern Lady" was and is every bit as captivating today as it was in the mid 1940's! On the back paper placard it provides the artist signature, title, date, price and a bit of information at very base reading: She lives in Wilmington, Del - may be dead.
Portrait was priced for sale at The Cambridge Arts Association at $150, which would be $2,485 in today's money! Ms. Edsall was a known portrait artist and most notably has a piece displayed within the Harvard Art Museum of her husband, Dr. David L. Edsall who was the dean of the Harvard Medical School and School of Public Health.
Portrait remains in good vintage condition.
