Two birds perch … Read more A truly stunning pendant light featuring the famille rose design of the qing dynasty bottle vase variants. Two birds perch amongst an array of pink and white peonies in full bloom and bud form. The white satin glass is the perfect backdrop for the delicate pastel shades of this colourful design (which i believe is a transfer print) and would offer a soft, diffused light to any room.

the vase features a globular base with long tapering neck and a three-pronged metal fitting to the top, each prong sleeved with a clear rubberised plastic bung to prevent damage to the glass.

the origins of this vase are unknown to me. I am yet to find any other like this available past or present. I have wondered whether this was a reproduction bottle vase retrofitted as a light shade as the base opening is rough cut (but not haphazardly so), whilst the upper opening is smooth and rounded to the touch. It's truly unique and a wonderful focal point to any room offering vintage style with the charm of chinese art.

the light shade is in perfect condition with no damage whatsoever.
