An exceptional matched set of the iconic MR10 armless cantilevered chairs in original black leather. Set of six authentic Mies van der Chairs manufactured by KnollStudio, circa 1995–1996. Each chair bears the KnollStudio wordmark and Mies van der Rohe signature engraved into the frame.
Originally designed in 1927 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the MR10 is an icon of the Bauhaus and International Style movements — a graceful armless cantilever form in tubular steel with leather seat and back, secured by the signature cross-laced detail.
This vintage set features polished chrome tubular frames and original black leather upholstery with period-correct lacing, all in excellent, well-cared-for condition. Each chair is engraved on the frame with the KnollStudio wordmark and Mies van der Rohe signature in the horizontal layout used in the mid-1990s, and several chairs retain the original Knoll date labels indicating May 1995 and May 1996 production.

The leather is supple with only minor, age-appropriate wear, and the chrome retains its original high polish with light, normal surface marks and some scratches. The lacing is intact and taut. I have photographed leather up close, variations I believe are mostly due to the natural leather. One of the chairs has slight discoloration in the back (inside the laces so not really detracting. I have photographed these as well. These chairs are exceptionally well cared for. less
