The style of the painting, however, has a fresh, modern quality that belies its age, through the crisp and precise application of watercolour in flat blocks of wash. The figure of the peasant woman is deftly added with touches of white bodycolour. There is additional line detail in graphite in places.On buff-coloured paper.All artworks come with a Certificate of Authenticity and in some cases the accompanying collection text or artist biography. Signed: Inscribed with artist's name on separate accompanying fragment of paper. His dates possibly added by a later hand.
